Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
Who we are
Urban Nomad operates social hostels in Sydney (Kings Cross) and London (Camden). This policy covers personal information collected through urbannomad.com, our guest area, our booking flow and our email communications.
Information we collect
- Booking details: name, email, phone, dates, room type and guest count.
- Check-in details you provide in the guest area, including identification checks where required by law.
- Enquiry and event-registration details you submit through forms on this site.
- Technical data such as IP address, device type and pages viewed, used to keep the site working and secure.
How we use it
- To take, confirm and manage your booking and stay.
- To send transactional messages such as booking confirmations and event tickets.
- To answer enquiries and provide guest support.
- To meet legal obligations, including accommodation record-keeping requirements.
- To send marketing emails only where you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
Booking and payment processing
Room bookings are processed through our property management and booking provider. Card details are handled by that provider and its payment processors; Urban Nomad does not store full card numbers on this website.
Sharing
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the business — our property management system, email delivery provider, ticketing partners for events, and hosting and analytics providers — and with authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell personal information.
Where your data is held
Urban Nomad operates in Australia and the United Kingdom, so personal information may be transferred between those countries and stored with providers hosting data outside your own country. Where UK GDPR applies we rely on appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent to marketing. UK and EU guests have these rights under UK/EU GDPR; Australian guests have access and correction rights under the Australian Privacy Principles.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@urbannomad.com. UK guests may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; Australian guests may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Retention
We keep booking and stay records for as long as required by accommodation, tax and accounting law in the relevant country, and delete or anonymise other data when it is no longer needed.
