Urban Nomad started in 2019 in a small boarding house in Surry Hills, Sydney. The idea was simple: create affordable accommodation that didn't feel institutional — somewhere travellers from every corner of the world could sleep well, feel welcome, meet people and become part of the neighbourhood.

From those early days, we grew across Sydney before taking Urban Nomad to London. Along the way, the spaces became bigger and the ambition grew, but the approach stayed the same: great beds, lively social spaces, memorable bars and locations that put guests in the middle of the action.

Urban Nomad is built for people who want more than somewhere to leave their bags. Our properties bring accommodation, nightlife, events and community together under one roof — whether that means meeting new friends over a drink, watching live comedy, singing karaoke or heading out to explore the city.

We are proudly independent and founder-run. There is no corporate formula, forced fun or one-size-fits-all design. Each Urban Nomad is shaped around its building, its neighbourhood and the people who pass through it.
